1. Norfolk Broads

2. Happisburgh Lighthouse

The vibrant red and white stripes of the Happisburgh Lighthouse make it a distinctive landmark and the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia. Operational from 1791 after a severe winter storm wrecked 70 sailing ships and 600 men were lost off the Norfolk Coast in 1789. The tower is 85ft tall and the lantern is 134ft above sea level. The lighthouse marks a safe passage around the southern end of the treacherous Haisborough Sands. The light has a range of 18 miles. This is the only independently operated lighthouse in the UK.
