Firle Beacon sits at 217 metres high and offers incredible views in all directions. The Beacon is situated behind the pretty village of Firle and is partway along the “South Downs Way” which stretches for 100 miles from Eastbourne to Winchester. This particular stretch has some of the best views.
Surprisingly you are able to drive up to this part of the walk, which is fantastic if you are wanting to enjoy the heights without the hike. Paragliders often use this as a jumping point and on a clear day you can see them soaring through the skies. Views out to the sea and inland are unbeatable.
We have selected 100 of our favourite pubs in England. We have visited and photographed each one ourselves & none of the pubs have paid for their inclusion so it is 100% honest.
We want to make it easy to find new and interesting places to visit. We research, visit and photograph every place ourselves and use our website, app and books to help inspire people to discover new things.
Well pleased with book, it is well laid out and contains lots of places I have not heard of even though I live in Kent. Am looking forward to trying out a few new ones. Would highly recommend it ★★★★★
