We’ve selected a few of our favourite places we have visited in England…

Hush Heath, Staplehurst

Hush Heath is a gorgeous, award winning vineyard based near Staplehurst in the Weald of Kent, established by entrepreneur Richard Balfour-Lynn in 2010. You can visit seven days a week to take a self guided tour around their vineyards and apple orchards followed by a tutored tasting without charge. They’re open 11am to 5pm.

The Noah’s Ark, Lurgashall

This child-friendly pub is renowned for its seasonal food and great service. The front garden of the Noah’s Ark overlooks the large village green making it a wonderful place to sit during the summer months and watch the locals play cricket.

Nyetimber, West Chiltington

Nyetimber was the pioneer of English sparkling wine, the first to plant the celebrated grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir in 1988 solely for the production of sparkling wine.

The Brisley Bell, Norfolk

The Brisley Bell Inn is a 17th-century pub which has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated to become a stunning destination pub. In addition to the bar area, there is a quiet dining room and a cosy snug kitted out with books and an open fire.

Wingrove House, Alfriston

Wingrove House is a 19th century colonial-style Country House with 12 stunning hotel rooms. Set in the beautiful and historic village of Alfriston, East Sussex. The restaurant serves light lunches, traditional Sunday lunch and 2/3 course dinners, whilst the relaxing lounge and terrace area provides the perfect space for drinks and afternoon tea.

Fair Oak Farm, Mayfield

Fair Oak Farm is a unique collection of delightful accommodation located in 12 acres of protected countryside. From their grade II listed farmhouse to their eco-lodge tree houses, everything is carefully designed and finished with comfortable furnishings and style.

 Augustus Brandt, Petworth

  Augustus Brandt is a charming antique and lifestyle shop located in a spacious Georgian townhouse in Petworth. The shop features bespoke, antique and contemporary pieces as well as a selection of homewares, accessories and gifts.

 W.F. Bruce Antique Clocks, Lewes

  W.F.Bruce was established in 1985. Initially based on the outskirts of Lewes but larger premises were soon required and the business moved to the village of Herstmonceux, before returning to Lewes and settling on North street in 2002.

Closet & Botts, Lewes

  Closet and Botts is a partnership between Chloe Shearing and Harriet Maxwell, specialising in vintage, reclaimed and handmade homeware. This eclectic store offers a mix of vintage, new and handmade homeware, furniture and clothes.

 Eat @ The Stade, Hastings

Eat @ The Stade beside Hastings fishing beach is a bright and airy café with friendly service and smiling staff. There are great options for vegans, vegetarians, and for those who are gluten free (produced in a mixed kitchen).

 Eggs to Apples Farm Shop

  Eggs to Apples is a multi award-winning farm shop and cafe in Hurst Green on the A21. The shop showcase the best of local produce including fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, bread and deli treats. Wines, craft beers and spirits are also available with fresh fish arriving daily from the South Coast.

 Emmett & White, Alfriston

  Emmett & White Antiques & Interiors specialise in the wonderful, the unusual and the downright eccentric. They stock pieces ranging from furniture to silver spoons. Emmett & White is a veritable trove of treasures.

Flint Owl Bakery, Lewes

  Flint Owl is passionate about bread and their loaves, croissants and pastries are all handcrafted and baked in small batch sizes using ingredients that are organic and of only the highest quality. Regionally renowned for their artisanal craftsmanship, they supply some of the top restaurants, cafes and shops.

 From Victoria, Lewes

  Freight is an interesting shop in Lewes selling a bespoke collection of homewares, many designed by the owners & manufactured in the UK. Freights mission is to create their own brand products representing their core values of; provenance, quality, durability and functionality.

 Graze on Grand, Saint Leonards-on-sea

  Head to Graze on Grand for brunch, lunch or dinner or simply to sample a delicious bottle of wine. This contemporary restaurant, wine bar, bottle shop and gallery space is great addition to the St Leonard’s seafront and is now in its third year.

Charlie’s Farm Shop

Charlie Hughes set up his award winning farm shop in 2013 and has built a reputation for his fresh and ethical produce, which is either created on site or sourced locally. The shop is stocked with a seasonal focus, highlighted with wines and beers from popular local vineyards and breweries.

 Greensand Ridge Distillery

  Greensand Ridge Distillery is a pleasure to visit and get inspired. Their Gin Experience gives visitors the opportunity to get experimental and distil a Gin of their very own, within the Still House itself and using traditional copper sills and a choice of over 40 botanicals.

 Much Ado Books, Alfriston

  Much Ado offers a handpicked selection of new and old books. In 15 years it has earned awards and accolades from the national press with a carefully-chosen range of current titles, a beguiling atmosphere and unstinting customer service. The welcoming shop occupies a picturesque barn in a lovely garden.

Gusbourne Estate, Appledore

Kenardington Road, Appledore, Ashford, Kent, TN26 2BE

With a pursuit of creating world class wines of uncompromising quality, Gusbourne is a stunning English wine estate consisting of 61 hectares in Kent and a further 32 in West Sussex situated near Goodwood Estate.

Farmer Butcher Chef, Goodwood

Goodwood, New Barn Hill, Chichester, PO18 0QB

Situated on the magnificent and historic Goodwood Estate, just outside of Chichester, Farmer Butcher Chef is renowned for its exceptional menu and creative approach to sustainability, with its produce sourced from the estate’s very own Home Farm.

Rathfinny Wine Estate, Alfriston

Alfriston, East Sussex, BN26 5TU

Rathfinny is a family-owned, socially conscious Wine Estate, established in 2010 by Mark and Sarah Driver, dedicated to producing some of the world’s finest sparkling wines from a perfect site in Sussex. Occupying a wonderful south-facing slope in England’s South Downs, the climate, chalk soil and aspect make it the perfect site.

Cliveden House Hotel, Windsor

Taplow, Berkshire, England, SL6 0JF

The striking Italianate architecture of Cliveden House dazzles guests upon entering its magnificent grounds. Glorious interiors are embellished with original period features, fireplaces, opulent furnishings and a timeless elegance, whilst acknowledging the rich historical heritage of the house.
