Cliveden House, Berkshire

The striking Italianate architecture of Cliveden House dazzles guests upon entering its magnificent grounds. Glorious interiors are embellished with original period features, fireplaces, opulent furnishings and a timeless elegance, whilst acknowledging the rich historical heritage of the house.

The impressive service, interior style, exquisite dining, and bountiful gardens project the luxurious associations for which Cliveden House is renowned. Lavender and scented roses, when in season, adorn the garden surrounding the outdoor swimming pool whilst the exceptional spa offers world-class treatments and unparalleled tranquillity.

Located in a beautiful old stable block, which once housed Lord Astor’s most prized horses, The Astor Grill provides an informal dining experience with a menu overseen by Executive Chef André Garrett focusing on classic American and British dishes. An equestrian theme is showcased through The Astor Grill’s décor, with inky blue leather banquettes and rich, dark woods in booths which would have once acted as the stables. Quirky details from metal horse legs supporting the tables to brass horse figurines decorate the restaurant.

Cliveden was once a vibrant social hub for guests as diverse as Charlie Chaplin, George Bernard Shaw and Winston Churchill and is today one of England’s most impressive and luxurious country houses, offering a cosmopolitan venue fused with traditional values. From Afternoon-Tea and fine dining to Weddings or a romantic weekend away, Cliveden House is one of Best of England’s most recommended venues and destinations.
