About

Flanking the River Wharfe and lying beneath the gaze of dramatic fells, Burnsall plays host to The Red Lion, a former 16th-century coaching inn. Blessed with the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, this boutique inn with rooms makes a great base for exploring the great outdoors. Chic, rustic interiors inspired by the countryside and sympathetic to the building’s heritage make you feel right at home in the heart of the Dales.

Food and Drink

An extensive refurbishment has breathed new life into The Red Lion and the restaurant is designed to feel traditional but minus the stuffiness. The team of talented chefs cook up hearty plates of comfort food that pander to your mood, showcasing the best ingredients supplied by local producers. In the cosy bar you can enjoy one of the award-winning ales and unwind in good company.

Rooms

Bedrooms at The Red Lion have been designed with a loving touch and occupy the pub, the holiday cottage and historic manor house, which dates back to 1883. Some rooms feature priceless views overlooking the River Wharfe and the Yorkshire Dales, tempting you to linger over your morning coffee. In the pub bedrooms, picture chunky wooden beams, beautiful bathrooms and rustic furnishings mingling with country-style accents.

Out and About

If the wildly beautiful setting of Burnsall isn’t enough to satisfy your sense of adventure with its undulating countryside and local wildlife, there’s plenty more to do nearby. Meandering through the village is the Dales Way which leads you on a wonderful journey through the Yorkshire Dales. Alternatively, you’ll find the likes of Bolton Abbey, Malham and the market town of Skipton just a short drive away.
