Each pub has a page giving the full address, a brief history, interesting facts, some description of layout and décor, food specialities, drinks etc and opposite a full page photograph capturing the charm of the building, interior and cuisine If you are not familiar with London you may have to take a moment to work out the locations as it is not categorised by areas. I have been a fan of these books for a number of years & am very lucky to own several that are not available any more. The guides contain beautiful photographs & an interesting and informative summary of the place/pub/landmark without going over the top with information overkill.

I took this book with me to London and found the addresses and descriptions to be accurate. I believe a map will be coming out soon to accompany the book, which will be a great addition, but I had no trouble finding the pubs on Google maps from the information in the book. I took some photos of the pubs as I thought these might be useful as part of the review, but the photos in the book are so much better! This is an extremely insightful list of interesting pubs in London.

These books are my go to books for planning a visit to a new area. I have them all…..Although not a book you can carry about, it gives you clear insights to what there is to see in and around Great Britain and this book is another superb concise book. It has amazing clarity with the quality of pictures and also the succinct information necessary to make a visit worthwhile. I am impressed with how many pubs there are to visit in London and it would make one hell of a pub crawl, but it’s lovely to see that there are still historical and quaint places in such a large and busy city. My husband once worked London and he has shown me some of the pubs he held meetings in!!

Another stunning book in this series by Best of Britain. I have purchased a number of these books for our holiday lets in the Cotswolds as they are such high quality and useful books. We get a lot of guests stay with us who either venture to London for the day or make onward trips to the city so I am sure they will find it useful.
I love how the pub suggestions are presented, one on each page, nice amount of text (not too wordy) and a lovely photo next to it. I’m a bit old fashioned and do like to choose a book at times over endless searches on the internet and this one is perfect!

The Best of Britain set of books, exceed expectations in every way. I have almost all that have been published and all are excellent quality, beautifully photographed and information, but not overly wordy.

This London Pub Guide, is a great example, from the moment it lands on the map, it demands to be read and is excellently engaging. It features London Pubs you may know and love, but also ones you may have walked past, without truly realising what is inside.

Take for example the The Old Bank of England, in Fleet Street which is so richly decorated, it is like walking into a palace or very well kept Stately Home. Would you have known this from the outside, probably not. Exactly where the London Pub Guide comes in really helpful. Plan a day out around 1, 2 or even more superb London Pub Guide pubs and have a fantastic experience, not just a pie & a pint !

This is my 8th 'Best of Britain guide' and it certainly does not disappoint. I am writing this as a visitor to London. The guide is full of a whole range of pubs, meeting the needs of everyone in terms of ales, wines, spirits and of course food. I have been amazed at the wealth of information about each pub along with the amazing photography that I have come to expect. I think it has inspired me to 'get out there' and find these establishments and experience them for myself. Such an eclectic mix of places and enough information to plan where you want to go and if you want to eat an over view of what can be expected. I love the brief history of each pub, leaving a desire to find out more. I like the fact that John Snow doesn't allow mobiles and the 'Idiosyncratic flair' of the Hemmingford Arms. I already have the Best of England Pub Guide, and have tried quite a few of the suggestions.....all of which have been worth the visit, so I am certain that this one will not disappoint. In fact I shall use it in conjunction with The Best of Britain, 'Kids Guide To London.' Having enjoyed several other books in the series of Best of Britain guides, I was looking forward to seeing the new London Pub Guide.
It continues the high standard set by the others, and I intend to use it with my other London guides as inspiration for future visits to London. I will enjoy seeking out some of these hidden gems.

This is an excellently put together book (more of a guide) to the very many different pub buildings in London. Loads of interesting information in the reviews with wonderful photographs. My only adverse comment would be that the map (available separately) should be part of the deal . As arranging the pubs in alphabetical order does not make it easy to navigate a “pub crawl” in any particular area. Maybe by postcode order would be better?
A very giftable book for all those connoisseurs who need a different type of day.

Brilliant book of pubs - lots to plan for! ★★★★★
I love this book - I have quite a few of these Best of Britain books and this is a great addition to my collection.
The pubs are listed alphabetically but it's also easy to work out where they are as well - there is a picture of each pub and a reasonable amount of detail as well and information about food if it's an option.
I also like the historical facts about some of the pubs and the quirky bits of info too (the pub where there are no mobile phones allowed for example!) I can highlight recommend this book and my husband and I have got our list of establishments to visit for our next London trip.

Not an ordinary Pub Guide ★★★★★
This not a Beer Guide telling you of which Ales or Beers are available at the location shown, but more of a guide showing the wonderful buildings and atmosphere you may find there.
Most of the pubs highlighted by the book are wonderful buildings that deserve to be shown, most have an exterior picture with some showing an interior picture instead, a few show a plate of food instead that you might try at the pub. I do prefer the exterior and interior pictures!
The pictures are opposite a brief description of the pub, which may contain a bit of history of it. or what you may expect there, with its address. The pubs are in alphabetical order so if you wish to visit several, you may have to plan ahead.
A lovely book in the series of the Best OF Britain.

We already have 7 books from the Best of Britain series and we are always excited when a new book is released by Harry and the team. The ones we already have are invaluable and we take them away with us when we go on holidays and days out. This new book will be no exception I am sure!

The London Pub Guide arrived this week - it was great to see so many South London pubs getting a mention! We have enjoyed going through the book, lovely layout, brilliant photos and not swamped with too much information, just enough to tickle the 'pub buds'.

We have enjoyed reading brief histories of the pubs and I am pleased to say that I have been in a few of them over the years. We live in London and are already planning to match a trip out somewhere and end up in one of the pubs in the book for either a drink or maybe lunch! Who knows? Maybe we will get to tick them all off eventually...

As with all Best of Britain books it is beautiful to look at and contains some fabulous photos and succinct but enticing descriptions. A new release from this company always elicit excitement, almost for the tactile feel of each book as well as its content. That they are produced by a company who so obviously care greatly for their product AND for their audience - I can personally testify to the latter having had numerous and very pleasant email conversations with both co-founders - only enhances their reputation. I own many of the Best of Britain books (see attached photo!) and have given as many away as gifts. As for this edition, from a selfish point of view I would have preferred the pubs to be listed by area rather than alphebetically and the tantalising hint at a map might have contained some details as to how this could be purchased... but these very minor niggles aside I will continue to support this fantastic company and genuinely look forward to each new addition to the canon!

This is a great book for seeking out interesting and quality pubs in London. It provides a good summary for each, including the general types of ales and some typical menu selections, along with some great photography.
Although listed in alphabetical order, there is an accompanying free on-line guide map, which is mentioned at the end of the book but for which no link is provided, strangely.
I Googled 'Best of England London Pub Guide Map' and it appeared as the first site listed. So that is useful to know.

A great book for discovering wonderful pubs across the great city. ★★★★★
I would say that this is another in a great series of books. I have a good few of them and they are all full of delightful photos and places, and pubs, etc.
I love the quality of the books and always find something/somewhere that I didn’t know about. I recommend this.
A couple of things get me though; It is a disappointment that the pubs aren’t grouped by area. Or, as in a previous book of theirs, a list at the back dividing them in to N. S. E. and W.
There is also no mention within this publication of what other books in the series there are. Surely missing a trick for themselves, at least, if someone has just bought this one or been gifted it.
